THE
Farmstead Press

Publisher of Fine Magazines & Books

Welcome to our website

I launched The Farmstead Press in 1973. It was established  to publish specialty magazines and books for reader interested in self-sufficient living and environmental issues. It proved to be a successful business enterprise for 15 years.

In 1988, however, I decided to pursue other interests and sold my magazines to take the position of Professor of Journalism at the University of Alabama‚Äôs College of Communication and Chair of its Magazine Publishing Program.

While living in Tuscaloosa, Alabama , I also served as adjunct professor of journalism and mass communication at Judson College in Marion, Ala., and the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Ala.

In sum, since moving to Alabama, I have worked for nearly 30 years as a college professor of journalism and mass communication, as well as media professional for commercial print (New York Times) and broadcast (WVUA-TV) media enterprises.

However,  I never lost my interest in magazine and book publishing, as well as my interest in the environment, sustainability and healthy, self-sufficient living . So in 2005, I launched ORGANIC BUZZ  Magazine. Check out this new publication on our website.

As is evident, I have relaunched The Farmstead Press. Today, it again serves as a publisher of newly created magazines and books with its focus on living a simpler, more sustainable and healthy lifestyle. You can review and enjoy our new publications here.
